Regions of the United States and the National Chicken Cooking Contest

In the 48th National Chicken Cooking Contest, a winning recipe will be selected from each state and the District of Columbia.  The person who submitted that recipe will win $100.00. The recipe will then be judged at the regional level, and the winner of each region will be invited to attend the National Cookoff on May 2, 2009, in San Antonio, Texas.  Each regional contestant receives $1,000 at the National Cookoff and competes for the Grand Prize of $50,000 and the Judge’s Choice award of $10,000.

The NCCC regions are the same as the “divisions” of the country as established by the U.S. Bureau of the Census.  To see in which region your recipe will compete, please find your state in the list below.

Only the nine people selected in the regional judging will be invited to a cookoff.  The state winners do NOT go to the regional judging – just their recipes.
