National Chicken Cooking Contest

The National Chicken Cooking Contest is sponsored by the National Chicken Council (NCC), headquartered in Washington, DC.  The National Chicken Council represents integrated chicken producer-processors, the companies that produce, process and market chickens.  Member companies of NCC account for approximately 95 percent of the chicken produced in the United States.

NCC maintains several web sites to inform the public about chicken, about the chicken industry, and about important issues.  These include:

The site, launched in April 1997, has quickly become one of the leading culinary sites on the Web, packed with hundreds of recipes, nutritional information, dietary news, advice on handling chicken product, and offers of informative literature. It also has interactive features, such as an online entry form for the National Chicken Cooking Contest, a survey of readers on consumer issues, and a recipe database.
Web site devoted to information about the broiler chicken production and poultry processing industry as a service to industry members, analysts, journalists, students, and members of the general public.  Site has statistics on production and consumption of chicken, exports, and marketing trends; reports on NCC’s survey research among consumers on their opinions of chicken and competing products.  News releases and speeches are also posted to the site, as well as a description of the production and processing of chickens and a brief history of the industry.
NCC created and maintains this web site jointly with the National Turkey Federation and the Egg Safety Center.  It holds information about the industry's response to the threat of avian influenza.
This site educates the public about the nutritional benefits of meat and poultry products.  NCC participates in this effort with the American Meat Institute and the National Turkey Federation in the Meat and Poultry Communications Alliance to address issues of common concern.
“Balancing the debate over ethanol policy and its impact on the food and livestock sector.”  A joint web site with American Meat Institute, National Turkey Federation, and others, providing news, views and facts on the impact of the diversion of corn into ethanol and away from livestock and poultry feed.
